Health Benefits of Caffeine Coffee
The health benefits of caffeine so we're trying to coffee tea other drinks not so there's caffeine in soda but I'm certainly not advocating that you drink soda to get your caffeine there's a lot of things that a caffeine does for your body that are pretty helpful and healthy so I'm just going to try to cover those real quickly first thing it does is you know is increased alertness energy ability to concentrate especially among people who are fatigued or sleep-deprived for headaches I can alleviate them especially tension or migraine type headaches and it's also worth noting and if you have a rebound if you if you stop drinking caffeine and you know go through withdrawals you will have this so-called rebound headache so keep that in mind as you stop or start drinking caffeine that you can treat headaches with it and it can cause headaches if you stop taking it it's also associated with some anxiety nervousness maybe panic attacks question is where their caffeine causes out or you have some underlying issue that's brought to the surface by the caffeine jury still heart health definitely good for the heart low to moderate can actually reduce your risk of having a heart attack and probably a stroke even though I can't say that for sure most likely heart attacks and structures go together however heavy consumption can increase your cardiac activity too much and increased risk for heart attacks a low to moderate if you have any concerns about the health of your heart it can reduce the risk of developing diabetes so that's pretty good if you're on the bubble or have family history caffeine is good for that and decaffeinated.Coffee can actually lower your hemoglobin a1c for those diabetics out there the jury is still out over whether coffee increases or decreases the likelihood of constipation everyone has their own experience but I probably loosens up your bowels a little bit liber disease so a couple things here it can actually decrease the incidence of liver cirrhosis and slow the progression of hepatitis C so that's actually a pretty pretty cool thing for anyone who has those types of issues it has some protective risks against cancer as well notably gastrointestinal especially throat and liver cancer reduces the risk for those endometrial cancer and prostate cancer so bringing out to brings the risk for those down it does not have any effects on breast or ovarian that we know of at this time and it may or may not increase the lung and bladder cancer risk some studies have suggested that it does but the authors of those studies believe that there's probably other factors at play that are more likely causing the risk to go up so overall reduces the risk of cancer in general with some caveats for it's actually not really that good for people with osteoporosis so if you have your at risk or you have it it can lower your boner bone mineral density might increase your risk of fractures so keep that in consideration especially among women who already are at risk for other reasons.
See if you have gout it can actually decrease your dassit levels and help as a protective effect against gout so that's useful it is obviously known to increase urinary frequency and incontinence if you have bladder problems keep that in mind this could make those worse a couple other protective effects decreases the risk of developing Parkinson's disease excuse me and may decrease the risk of developing Alzheimer's as well so that's pretty interesting so overall definitely a lot of good health benefits unless you have RCRA osteoporosis or you know some underlying anxiety disorder it might make that another thing that's really important about caffeine is it's been studied extensively and shown to improve athletic performance across a wide variety of activities and sports occurs strength high intensity cardio aerobic exercise doesn't matter what it is it helps and those performance increases were noted in the 2.5 to 5 milligrams per kilogram range so that's sort of the recommendation there caffeine is also associated with increase in your body's responsiveness to testosterone increasing the amount of circulating sex hormone binding globulin which carries that testosterone and it can elevate your cortisol as well it's just some other good benefits there of caffeine and coffee consumption can actually decrease your overall mortality so that means to compare people who drink coffee versus those who don't the coffee drinkers are more likely to live longer effectively or die less if you want to put it the way.
The authors put it that's true in moderate and heavy coffee drinkers caffeine and pregnancy that's our thing that's often discussed so the studies out there aren't very good for a variety of reasons we do know that caffeine crosses the placenta into the fetus and can affect the heart rate and arousal and things like that so sort of the same things it does in adults there are no uniform guidelines again because the studies are very good but most professionals and professional organizations and doctors will say keep that consumption below 2 or 300 milligrams per day if you're pregnant or becoming pregnant caffeine dependence was recently added as a psychiatric illness and the dsm-5 I'm just mentioning that because the there they did it because of a draw syndrome is so well documented and I just want to mention those symptoms are basically the opposite of what happens when you drink caffeine so instead of energy you have tiredness fatigue drowsiness irritability those symptoms sort of occur about a day after assistance you stop consuming it peak at one to two days and can last up to about a week and you were to worry about it's not gonna kill you or anything sources of caffeine obviously coffee tea those are the big ones again not soda do not drink soda hey let's see you get cocoa chocolate Burana yerba mate again I don't know what that is : utt and obviously you get caffeine pills which be careful with those slippery slope there they're also on some over-the-counter pain relievers and diet pills so there's really four things that I want you to walk away from this lecture with one caffeine is healthy and confers health benefits when consumed in moderation to this proven to boost a better performance and variety of ways 3 compared to people who don't drink coffee it decreases overall mortality and for and pregnant women keep that consumption under 200 milligrams per day...
